Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), under contract to the Assistant Secretary for Environment, Safety and Health, Office of Safety Appraisals of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), has developed uniform design and evaluation guidelines for protection against natural phenomena hazards for facilities at DOE sites throughout the United States.
